Product: Polyurethane 6mm Heavy Duty Floor Screed & High Build Coatings

Project requirement:
The client required a heavy duty and cleanable floor within the 3 no cattle sales rings and corridors within The Thainstone Centre. Due to the nature and usage of the areas the floor proposed would require to be hard wearing, able to withstand heavy impact and be suitable for a constant cleaning regime. The seated areas required a finish that was suitable for foot traffic and cleanable.

Proposed product:
The product proposed was a polyurethane 6mm heavy duty floor screed for the stairs, landings & corridors with a 2 coat high build system for the seated areas.

Process:
The process involved lifting all the existing vinyl floor tiles on the stairs, landings and corridors, diamond grinding all floors, priming all areas and applying a 6mm polyurethane screed system to landings, stairs and corridors. A coving system was also applied to all corridors. The seated areas were also prepared to the same standard with a 2 coat high build coating system applied due to these areas only having foot traffic.

Conclusion:
The area once complete met all expectations, providing a cleanable, durable and aesthetically pleasing floor which was fit for purpose.
